In this 90-minute workshop, we’ll take your burlesque to the next level by creating your new performer persona. We’ll discuss choosing a name, creating your onstage identity, perfecting your look (through hair, makeup and costumes) and using traditional acting techniques to more fully inhabit your character. We’ll look at both present-day and past performers to discover what made each of them unique, and we’ll learn how you can apply that information to yourself.

Please note: This is not a movement class. Aside from a few theatrical exercises, we’ll spend most of our time in discussion. No special clothing required - although you may want to bring a notebook and pen. No previous burlesque experience is required.
